Thomas Romalo Polverari Obituary
April 11, 1932 - September 19, 2017 Our dear Tom, 85, went to heaven to be with our Lord and his family. Tom Polverari, of Los Angeles, died Tuesday, Sept. 19 from heart disease at St. Joseph's Hospital in Burbank, in the company of family and close friends. Tom, affectionately known as Tim and Tommaso, was a special, jovial and enthusiastic man. He was devoted to his family his entire life and was an outstanding example of unconditional love, especially toward his family and close friends. He was Director of Sales Promotion at Transamerica Corporation for many years and helped the company prosper.  A private person, Tom was a "bookworm" in the truest sense and his home was filled with books on every imaginable subject. Tom had the capacity to find beauty and wonderment in even the simplest things. An avid chess and poker player, he also penned beautiful poetry honoring our mother.  As a tribute to our father from Italy and our grandparents from Lebanon, Tom had their names inscribed on the American Immigrant Wall of Honor at Ellis Island. A graduate with honors from Canisius College in Buffalo, New York, he established the Thomas E. and Anne Simon Polverari Scholarship Fund for high school and college students.  Tom is survived by his sister, Veronica Polverari, and predeceased by his sister Marilyn Polverari and our beloved parents, Thomas E. and Anne, née "Deebe" Simon and our precious Polverari family in Rome and Le Marche, Italy.  He is sadly missed by his family and friends. Gift contributions can be made to Canisius College, Thomas E. and Anne Simon Polverari Scholarship Fund, c/o Canisius College Development Office, 2001 Main St., Buffalo, NY 14208.  Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept., 26, 2 - 9 P.M. at Forest Lawn Memorial Park, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90068. A requiem mass will take place on Wednesday, Sept. 27 at 10 AM at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 10800 Moorpark St., North Hollywood, CA 91602, followed by a private memorial reception for family and friends.
