Vicki Shapiro Obituary
Vicki Gutin Shapiro passed away on February 16, 2016, from complications associated with anorexia. She was born to Meyer ("Mike") and Gayle Gutin in Cincinnati, Ohio, where she attended Woodward High School, and, in 1966, was crowned Miss Teenage Cincinnati. Vicki graduated from Smith College and attended Loyola Law School. She began working for the Screen Actors Guild in 1978, later becoming its Legal Affairs Director. Vicki sat on the Board of Trustees at the SAG Foundation, and volunteered her time at the Skirball Cultural Center, the Alzheimer Awareness Walk, and the Motion Picture Home. She is survived by her adoring husband of 30 years, Bernard, with whom she sailed the seven seas. She was bubbe to Jacob, Sasha, and Soren, and is also survived by her stepchildren, Dean, and his partner Haim, as well as Bill, and his partner Naomi. Vicki's sister, Pamela Gross, her niece, Susannah Teague, and her grandniece Madeleine Teague, also mourn Vicki's loss. We will all miss her so much. A funeral service will be held at Hillside Memorial Park on Monday, February 22nd at 1:00 pm. Friends and family are invited to remember Vicki with a donation to the SAG-AFTRA Foundation (www.Sagafrta.foundation) or the Motion Picture & Television Fund (www.mptf.com).
