Victor Rosenblatt Obituary
Victor Rosenblatt was born on May 7, 1938 in Los Angeles, California to Fay and William Rosenblatt. He moved several times with his parents to accommodate his father's military career as a young child. He re-settled in Los Angeles while still in his youth and attended Belmont High School. Victor's father died when he was young and he and his mother continued living in the MacArthur Park area of Los Angeles for the rest of his youth. Victor was part of the Belmont High School baseball team and he enjoyed working for the Parks and Recreation Department at Lafayette Park. He enjoyed playing both basketball and baseball and met many lifelong friends on the courts at Lafayette Park. He also worked at the Vagabond Theater and developed a love of movies and music. He favored science fiction, western and military movies and Fats Domino and other musical artists from the 1950's. He collected science fiction magazines, stamps and coins throughout his youth. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1956. Victor always knew he wanted to be a lawyer from the time he was in elementary school and he never wavered from that goal. He attended UCLA as an undergraduate and majored in History. He graduated with his Bachelor's Degree from UCLA in 1960. He went on to attend UCLA Law School and graduated in 1963. He focused his entire legal career in the area of corporate law and worked as in-house counsel for companies including Western Airlines, Avery Corporation and Nichols Institute. He finished his career working for the law firm of Buchalter, Nemer, Fields & Younger in Los Angeles. He loved the study of law and took great pride in his ethical and professional responsibilities as a lawyer. He became involved in local Bar Association activities including serving as President for the Irish American Bar Association through the connection with his wife, Maureen's, Irish heritage. Victor met his wife, Maureen, in 1962. Victor and Maureen were married in June 1965 in North Hollywood, California. The couple bought their home in Glendale in 1969 and Victor enjoyed this family residence until he passed away at home on December 15, 2015. They have two children, Pam, age 48, who lives in West Hollywood and Jenny, age 46, who lives in Irvine. Victor has one grandson, Declan Tompkins, age 11, who shares his love of history. Victor was a proud husband, father and grandfather and found a deep sense of contentment and happiness with family life.
