Vilma Wendt Obituary
Vilma Wendt passed away peacefully at her home in North Ranch California On February 24, 2014. Vilma was born in La Rioja Argentina and she met her husband, George, when she was an elementary school teacher in San Luis Argentina. They were married in 1958 and later had two children, Hugo and Sonia. She and her family decided to move to Hollywood, California in the early 1960's in order to expand George's successful photography business. Vilma and George started Personal Color Lab in Hollywood Blvd. and grew the company into one of the most respected photo processing labs in Los Angeles. Vilma was an instrumental part of the company using her strong organizational skills and work ethic. After growing their company for nineteen years, they decided to sell Personal Color Lab and transition into the Commercial Real Estate business. Vilma chose at this time to focus on her children and grandchildren as well as her many interests including meditation and prayer groups, painting and contributing to charity. Her many hobbies included reading, travelling, and collecting fine antiques. She had an appreciation for many types of art with a special interest in Asian antiques. Kind, gracious, generous and smiling are all descriptions of Vilma given by those that knew her. Many loved Vilma and she had a cheerful and happy spirit. She was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother and felt that is was important to call her daughter and son daily in order to keep communication strong within the family. Her husband George, son Hugo Wendt, Sonia Wendt-Bekian (Bob,) grandchildren Melanie Wendt-Gordon, Michelle Wendt, Shane Bekian and Bryce Bekian will eternally miss her. A Memorial service will be at held on March 1st at 11:30 am at St. Maximillian Kolbe Catholic Church at 5801 Kanan Road, Westlake Village Ca. 91362.
