She attended Wayne State University and had a career as a buyer for the exclusive Himelhochs Department Store in Detroit. In 1955, she came to California and married Vance Colvig, Jr, a character actor and host of many children's television shows. For 25 years, she volunteered at the Motion Picture Television Fund "Cinema Glamour Shop" on La Brea. At one time, Gini also served as Treasurer for LA City Councilwoman, Peggy Stevenson. Gini was equally a homebody, who loved the artistry of decorating her house and doing handicrafts, and a traveler, who dashed off regularly to visit friends and attend family events around the country. Her generous spirit will be missed by Vance Colvig III, his wife Janice and her granddaughter, Cortney, Helen Colvig, and her nephew Bruce Spears and Nancy Hobbs of Michigan. Our dear hospitably Gini, who could find humor in almost everything, also leaves many, many beloved friends, nieces, nephews, great & great great nieces & cousins.
