Many decades ago the wonderful Wanda befriended me when we were pursuing our social work degrees. Wanda and Sy welcomed me into their home and I hope her sassy smart kind and gracious memory is a blessing

I have known Dr. Wanda as my therapist for four years. She helped me grow as a person and helped me enter adulthood through her words of wisdom. I just learned about her passing, and I would like to share my words. She was a great therapist, teacher, and a great soul who guided me through my life struggles as a late teenager/early adulthood. She was charismatic and wonderful, as she would make therapy sessions fun and engaging. She did a wonderful impact in my life and I truly want to let her family know that. She will truly be missed.

I feel so blessed to have known Wanda, as a therapist, many years ago when my children were small. Her warm and engaging style coupled with her great laugh made visits with her a very special time. I looked forward to seeing her and sharing so much with her each week. Now, 20 years later, I happened upon her obituary while wrapping up my Passover dishes. It tore me apart. Such a special soul. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved her so dearly.

I knew her first - way back in Peace Corps training in Bothell, Washington -- as Wanda Echevarria: a lifetime ago, and saw her last at a reunion in three+ years ago. She was and will always be, one of the most generous and loving people to grace my life -- and countless others. "Forever" isn't so daunting or fearsome knowing it will be graced by wonderful people; Wanda was, is, and always will be one of them. Her family must be awash in grief and loss. My heart and love (and prayers) go out to them.
