William E. DeYoung Obituary
April 1928 - February 2017 William (Bill) attended Chaffey High School and was an outstanding all-around athlete, recognized for both his academic and leadership success. His athletic success continued at Chaffey Junior College where he led their football team to a conference championship both in1946 and 1947. He attended Stanford University on a football scholarship continuing on to get his MBA after completing his undergraduate work. Bill joined the National Guard after graduating, receiving a commission as a second lieutenant and was sent over seas to Korea where he joined the staff of a Mobile Army Surgical Hospital as an executive officer. On his return to civilian life, Bill met and married Mary Sadler, of San Bernardino and went to work for Kaiser Steel where he remained until he retired in the 1980's when the company closed. Bill made his home in Upland and is survived by his wife Mary, sons Douglas and Daniel, a daughter Diane, a brother Eugene De Young, and 4 grandchildren. Services to be held April 21, 2017 at 10:30 Bellevue Memorial Park, 1240 West G St, Ontario, CA
