October 1, 1928 - May 28, 2015 William Fredrick "Bill" Wenke, son of Adolph and Gertrud Wenke died 28 May 2015 in Dana Point, California. His life began October 01, 1928 in Stanton, Nebraska. He met his wife Eugenie S. "Jean" Wenke while attending the The University of Nebraska, College of Law, Lincoln, NE, and they married on the 18th of August, 1950. The "love of his life", his wife of 63 years Jean Wenke, preceded him. He is survived by his children James Moore, Jill Kruger, Kent Erickson and Scott Wenke, In-laws Robert and Sue Wenke, and Jackie Sampson. Among his many professional accolades, Bill served the legal community for over 60 years as Attorney at law, was presented the Hand the Man Award (Salvation Army), served as President of the State Bar of California (1981), and President of the Orange County Bar Association (1977). Additionally, Bill served as the President of The Foundation of the University of Nebraska, his Alma Mater, from 1984-1986. Bill was very active in the community both in Nebraska and California. Making life long friends, who remained forever loyal whether in the volleyball league, tennis club, or in their church family including First Presbyterian Church in Santa Ana and later at St Andrews in Newport Beach. Through Bill, we see a life well lived with a devotion to service, to include church the choir, tutoring and ballet for under privileged children. He lived to welcome six grandsons, Weston, Dylan, Coleman, Jason, Cody and Kyle, five granddaughters, Destiny, Rachael, Kelly, Holly and Genie, two great granddaughters, Brianna and Ayla, and great grandson Walter. The legacy of a caring and loving provider will stay with us always. Through his many photos, we will always have great memories to cherish and remember. Memorial service for Bill Wenke will be held at 1:00 pm on 31 July, 2015 at Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church, located at 600 St Andrews Road, Newport Beach, CA 92663. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Salvation Army.
