William L. Drew Obituary
September 30, 1931 - August 2, 2017 William was born on September 30, 1931 in Boston, Massachusetts to his father William Henry and mother Mildred Giles. After graduating from high school, he became one of a group of young men who sold magazine subscriptions, on the road. In 1952 Bill was drafted to serve in the Korean War. While serving he rose to the ranks of 2nd Lt. as a military policeman. After completing his military service, he moved to New York City in 1954. He received a degree in Liberal Arts from the Actors Academy and went on to study Method acting with Lee Strasberg. He appeared off Broadway and Summer Stock Theater. In 1962 he located to L.A. hoping to find work in T.V. His passion was for music and poetry. In 1966 he met and married Martha Adams. They were together 51 years. He changed profession and became a Financial Planner. He worked in several small firms before he retired in 1994. The couple attended Grace Community church in Sun Valley. He was preceded in death by his sisters Jeannette, Ruth, and Diana, his two brothers Jack and Donald. He is survived by his wife Martha, his sister Dorothy, and sister-in-law Vicki. A private service was conducted. He will be missed by those who knew and loved him.
