Zalotta Abby Danning Obituary
April 27, 1925 - December 9, 2017 A native of Toronto, Ontario (Canada), and the only child of Simon and Anna Rosenberg, Zee moved with her parents to the United States in her early twenties, married in 1949, and raised four sons in the Los Angeles area. In the current age of poseurs, Zee was the real deal: an outspoken woman of superior intelligence and great compassion and kindness, with a terrific sense of humor and a playful cheerfulness that was evident day in and day out through her final days. She was a free spirit; fun to be around; and as genuine and down to earth as they come. She was always available to provide support and advice, and also always willing to undertake new experiences. She was much loved and will be greatly missed by her sons, David and his wife, Nancy Wagman, Stephen, Matthew and his wife, Erika Seid, and Gordon; her two grandchildren, Zack and Becky; her former husband, Ben Danning; several nieces; other family members; and many cherished friends. The family wishes to thank the outstanding staff and volunteers at the Los Angeles Jewish Home, whose affection and conscientious care for Zee was obvious and heart-warming. Special thanks to Zee's newest friends, Natalie Alcaras and Pam Trickett, for their ongoing kindness and support. A gathering in Zee's memory is planned for the near future. Donations in her honor may be made to Los Angeles Children's Hospital, the Simon Wiesenthal Center, or other charitable organization.
