Zavella Jacobson Obituary
Zavella Jacobson, aged 81, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2017. A lifelong Angeleno, she was born in Los Angeles on March 11, 1936 to Sam and Clara (Perlman) Kwalwasser. She graduated from Roosevelt High School. After completing programs in gemology and jewelry arts at the Gemological Institute of America in Santa Monica, she worked at GIA for many years until her retirement. Zavella was preceded in death by Robert, her loving husband of 44 years and a beloved brother, Nathan Kwalwasser. She is survived by her dear siblings Leon Kwalwasser and Rose Rowlett; her devoted daughters, Bonnie and Maureen Jacobson; and her one and only grandson, Jack Gibson for whom she had her most cherished role as Nana Z; and many loving nieces and nephews: Laurie, Annette, Debbie, Katherine, David, Nicholas and Ayal. Zavella will be interred at Hillside Memorial Park with a memorial service honoring her life on Sunday, April 2, 2017 at 1pm at the home of Maureen Jacobson. For more information call (310) 210-9843.
