To the Hartsock Family...Reverend Hartsock played a major role in our lives. My husband and I were planning to marry...with much conflict over religion and an officiant. Jay is culturally Jewish with no religious affiliation and I am Catholic but non-practicing. My mother wanted a "man of God" to perform the ceremony and Jay's parents wanted no religion whatsoever. We found your lovely Donald who helped us make choices and walk through the process without totally alienating anyone. He performed our ceremony in a local hotel. It was simple, beautiful and heartfelt. We will never forget him and we are truly sorry for your loss.

Don was one of the really good guys. A counselor to many on religious matters and human travails. And a scuba diving enthusiast.

He officiated our marriage and other Ross family marriages. He was a great friend of Dr. Joseph Ross and the entire Ross family.

He will be missed by the many people whose lives he touched.

Don's life (and I only had a brief snapshot into it) was a life dedicated to serving others. He was the Voice of justice, fairness and a better tomorrow. Now, more than ever, we need to add our own Voice to the example Don gave us. May your loved ones find comfort in memories of you.

Don was an inspiring leader, friend, role model, and all-around mensch. Memories of him, and his great works, will always be with us.

We couldn't have had better next door neighbors than Don and Jo! Don was always helpful, funny, thoughtful and a great friend.
We will miss him deeply.

Don's leaves a legacy via the many lives he touched. He wove a tapestry of hope, encouragement and civility. He gave a voice to those who whispered, strength to those who needed support and gave visibility to those who felt invisible. My thoughts and prayers along with condolences to his beloved wife and family. Thank you Don for being a teacher, a mentor and a friend. The honor was to know you.
