"In life, we shall find many men that are great, and some men that are good, but very few men that are both great and good."
Kevin was both.

I was so sorry to hear the news! Wow, when someone is larger then life and lived life to fullest like Kevin did, you expect them to be around forever. I have great memories and thinking of them brings a big smile to my face - because of Mr. Deverich! He was a true leader and gathered the respect of all who knew him and all who worked with and for him. My sympathies to his family.

Kevin was the most interesting man I have ever met. In fact, we can call him a modern-day Renaissance man. We will always remember him for his great sense of humor, his learned ways and his sense of style and panache. Kevin had a most profound effect on my family and my future, and for that we will always be thankful. Although we will miss him, his enduring spirit will be with us always. From the time I met Kevin just out of college during his time in Atlanta, until our last notes and conversations, Kevin was a wonderful friend. He mentored and advised, worked and played hard, and was certainly one of a kind. For over thirty years, we all shared our special Kevin stories, and still laugh at some of the great memories.
We know how much he loved Amanda, Lexie and Rhett, and we will all help you cherish his memory.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all, with love,
Margot and Marvin Dawkins

Such sad news to hear of the passing of an old friend. Kevin was certainly a man among men and one of a kind and will be missed by all of us leaving our sentiments and those who have yet to hear the sad news.
He and his family will be in my prayers always. Goodbye old friend and may you enjoy everlasting peace.

It is with such sadness I write this note. I had the pleasure of working for Kevin at the Capital Hilton and at Merv Griffin Hotels. Kevin was a leader who helped further the career for so many, for which I am grateful. He was confident, gracious, brilliant and fun. He had a terrific sense of style and an appreciation for the finer things in life. With Kevin it was nothing less then 5 star. I am thankful for so many terrific memories. As I reflect back, each one ends the same….Kevin made us laugh till it hurt. On behalf of my family, we will miss you terribly and will keep your family in our thoughts and prayers.

Our sympathies are with Amanda, Madeliene, and Samantha, with whom I know Kevin had found genuine happiness. His understanding of so many wordly things, and his keen sense of humour will be missed. I will always value his professional and personal support during my 5 years working with him in Washington, and in our friendship which has endured beyond that time.

My most sincere condolences to the family. Kevin was a very close friend and mentor. I always enjoyed visiting with him at the Capital Hilton on his many visits to Washington. I will miss sharing hotel stories with him and his engaging personality.
