Donald John Robinson
April 16, 1933 - November 29, 2011
Donald John Robinson, 78, of Los Angeles, passed away peacefully on November 29, 2011.

Don Robinson was born in Los Angeles, CA, on April 16th, 1933, to Nora and Art Robinson. After attending Loyola High School, Don received a Bachelors Degree in History & Fine Arts from Loyola Marymount University and conducted post-graduate studies in Marketing at UCLA.

Don was a native Californian and Beverly Hills resident. He had an extensive professional background in both Architectural Interior Design and Real Estate.
In 1995, he joined Sotheby's International Realty. As owner for 25 years of Donald J. Robinson & Associates, Don designed properties nationwide including Dallas, Denver, Honolulu, Newport Beach, New York City and metropolitan areas throughout California. Prior to joining Sotheby's International Realty, he was the Estates Director for Jon Douglas Co., one of the largest real estate brokerages in the country at the time.

Known for his loyalty and impeccable style & taste, Don was adored for his magnetic personality and witty sense of humor. As Gary Cooper's Godfather, Don was a fixture of old Hollywood. After courting a number of Hollywood starlets, Don finally set his eyes on Dolores Hart, to whom he was engaged. Dolores ultimately chose a different path in life when she received a calling to enter the Abbey. Although they did not ultimately marry, Don and Dolores remained close, close friends and he continued to visit her at the Abbey of Regina Laudis in Connecticut every year throughout his life. He loved to travel, especially to his favorite cities, Rome, Paris and Hawaii, where he lived for several years.

Don spent the last few months of his life in Newport Beach enjoying his beautiful home and loving family. Don is survived by his adoring sister Kathi Koll, nieces and nephews and many wonderful lifetime friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be made to The Abbey of Regina Laudis in Bethlehem, Conn. or to Loyola High School, located at 1901 Venice Blvd., Los Angeles, CA 90006.

Funeral arrangements will be held at 4:00pm, December 7th, 2011, at Loyola High School in Los Angeles.

My sincerest sympathy to the family and friends of Don Robinson. I was fortunate enough to speak with Don over the phone back on April 6, and although we had never met, Don treated me as if I were an old friend. I did not know that Don's birthday was so close to mine. I KNOW that Don is in Heaven; the soul of a gentleman of that calibre does not hesitate to fly into God's arms. +God Bless all of Don's family and friends!+
