Eric Heschong Obituary

Eric worked as an artist in the film and entertainment industry. He became a master painter for Landmark Entertainment and Universal Studios, developing conceptual renderings for new themed parks around the world, and was acclaimed as a Disney "Imagineer" for his Tomorrowland visual concepts in 1998. He began his career painting scenery at CBS Studio City and animation backgrounds for Hanna Barbera Studios, after studying art at CalArts in Valencia and with Fred Fixler at Brandes Art Institute.
Eric never married, yet mentored many neighborhood children in art and music. After his father, E. Albert Heschong passed away, Eric took care of his mother, Naomi, in Encino for her last three years of life, then retired to Santa Clarita. Born Dec 7, 1950 in New York City, Eric passed away June 4, 2013 from lung cancer in Santa Clarita at Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital, surrounded by his family. He is survived by his sister, Lisa Heschong, brother, Gregg Heschong, and nieces and nephews. Eric would be honored by any donations sent to St. Jude's Research Hospital for Children.
A private memorial service will be planned in the coming month.

My only wish was that you got to see me on my wedding day. I wish I could go back in time and make it come true. You will be missed dearly.

You were the best second dad, friend, and mentor a kid could ever ask for. I promise to set things right and make sure that your last wish comes true.
