June 25, 1921 - September 8, 2014 Dr. Helen B. Wolff, 93, a psychiatrist who practiced in Beverly Hills for over 50 years. A native of Los Angeles, Dr. Wolff was a graduate of Stanford University in 1942 and one of three women in her class at Stanford Medical School during World War II. Following training in public health and psychiatry at Yale University, she entered private practice in Beverly Hills in 1956 and retired at the age 90 in 2011. Dr. Wolff was a clinical professor at USC Medical School and was on staff at Cedars Sinai Hospital for many years. Dr. Wolff was a long serving member of the Los Angeles County Mental Health Commission. As a philanthropist, she was particularly active with El Nido Family Centers, where she served on the board and as an advisor. Among many favorites, she loved the Hollywood Bowl, the LA Opera, and USC football, having attended Trojan games regularly from 1933 through the 2013 season. She was married to Payson Wolff for 49 years until his death in 1995. Dr. Wolff is survived by her three children, ten grandchildren and one great grandchild. On September 8, 2014, in Beverly Hills.
