July 29, 1924 - December 25, 2014 Patricia Apstein, 90, passed away Christmas Day. Born in Ohio, she was a Midwesterner by birth and became both a New Yorker and a Los Angeleno. As a young woman, she pursued a career in acting in New York theater after graduating from the University of Texas. She married Theodore Apstein shortly after he directed her in Joan of Arc. She raised her family in both New York and Los Angeles, later earning her Masters in Psychology from Pepperdine University. She worked as a psychiatric social worker almost up to her 90th birthday at Gateways Hospital in Los Angeles, where she was affectionately known as Miss Pat. She lost her only sister, Carol, earlier this year. She is survived by five children and many grandchildren.
