Shirley Solomon Levy

1921 - 2016

April 21, 1921 - April 29, 2016 Shirley passed away on April 29, 2016 in her home in Los Angeles. She was born in New York and moved to Los Angeles in 1941. She married Maurice Levy, Jr. in 1949 and they lived happily together for 59 years before he passed away in 2008. Shirley owned a successful children's clothes manufacturing company in downtown Los Angeles for 45 years. She and Maurice traveled widely. At age 87 she took up painting and found a new creative passion. Reading, mahjong and friends kept her busy. Shirley loved dogs and the family always had one or two dogs. Walking in the neighborhood with biscuits was an important part of daily life. She is survived by daughters Karen Levy (Kim), Susan Pauly (Drew), stepson Stephen Levy (Nancy), grandchildren David Levy and Emma Pauly and great-grandson Maverick Maurice Levy.
