Manny Udko Obituary

UDKO, Manny (92), co-founder of the Los Angeles jewelry manufacturing company, Udko & Co., died Tuesday evening November 6th at his home in West Hollywood. He was a pioneer in the jewelry business since 1932. A 32nd degree Freemason, Manny was actively involved in numerous charities including the Jewish Home for the Aging, Jewish Free Loan and the City of Hope. His daughter, Wendy, predeceased him. He is survived by his son, Richard Udko and daughter-in-law, Billie; his daughter, Terri Bloomgarden, and son-in-law David; grandchildren, Jordan, Zach, Bonnie, Dena and her fiance, Adam Stein; and his devoted companions, Ethel and Guillermo Palencia. Services will be held on Friday, November 9, 2007 at 2 p.m., at Mount Sinai Memorial Parks and Mortuaries - Hollywood Hills (800) 600-0076

Manny was one of the most entertaining, warm, generous and authentic human beings I've ever been blessed to know. I'll miss our weekly chats about the markets, the world, and believe it or not, women. The world is a better place because of Manny.
