Barbara Ann Napper, age 88, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2018. She was born on September 26, 1929 in Waterloo, Iowa and moved to California with her parents in 1943 when she was a young teenager. She was a resident of Long Beach since 1950 and lived in her home as the original owner for 65 years. After her four children were finished with elementary school she worked in the elementary schools of Long Beach Unified School District and enjoyed helping and caring for the young students. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed gardening, traveling, sewing, and following local college and professional sports teams. She was married to her loving husband, Karyl, for 58 years before he passed away in 2009. She is survived by her four children, Cindi, Gary (Kim), Jeff (Judy), and Brian (Tricia) and her 14 wonderful grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren, and sister, Carol McAleer. Oh I´m so sorry to see this. I woke up this morning with Barbara on my mind; I don´t know why. I worked with her at Longfellow Elementary School. She was my mentor, my confidant, and very dear to me. I´m grateful to this day she was a part of my life

Condolences to the entire Napper family. I remember Barbara as a wonderful grandmother always supporting her grandchildren, and kind to everyone she met! She is now at peace in the Heavens above!!!
