Joyce C. Wick

WICK, Joyce C.

Joyce spent her final day at her life-long home in San Gabriel on December 4, 2012, in comfortable surroundings with excellent care.

Surviving is her brother Jim, and multiple
beloved relatives including nephews, cousins, and a niece. Joyce was predeceased by her father and sister in 2010, and her mother in 1975. She was born in Pasadena, California on Christmas Day in 1954 and brought joy to all she touched.

Joyce graduated from Temple City High School, and earned her AA degree in Agriculture. She loved farming and every year would plant her corn and other vegetables for home harvest, which she would give away.

She had a real sense of life, and greatly valued relationships many of us take for granted including close ties with her friends and family. A special place in Joyce's heart was reserved for Camp Fire Girls and the memories of her friends and counselors at Camp Wasewagan.

Joyce also loved her many friends and caregivers at City of Hope, friends she would make on her cruises with her father and nephew Jake, and all her other life-long friends. She frequented Disneyland with her annual pass and loved it. Joyce gave of herself to her father for his lifelong care until his death in 2010. Joyce brought color and wonderment to our lives.

A memorial service will be held on January 6 at 1:00 PM, at her lifetime Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, 1881 S First Avenue, Arcadia CA. Memorial donations may be made to the church in memory of Joyce.
