Sharon E. Catron

1948 - 2021

July 1, 1948 - January 4, 2021 Sharon was born in Southgate, CA to parents, John and Mary Catron. The eldest of three children, Sharon was raised in Long Beach, attending Tincher Elementary, Hill Jr. High and Millikan High School where she graduated in 1966. Sharon was married briefly and has two daughters, Michelle and Rhonda. Sharon always had a zest for life. She enjoyed being a Campfire leader for the girl's troop when they were young. Sharon was very creative and showed that in many ways. She was a licensed Cosmetologist and had her own shop, then at age 36 she went back to college and graduated from LBCC as a Registered Nurse. She worked at Long Beach Memorial Hospital in the Wound Care and ICU units until she was injured on the job and had to leave. Sharon never lost her zest for life and could often be found surrounded by family and friends playing bingo, bunco assorted card games or teaching some sort of craft. She enjoyed card making, scrapbooking, floral arranging, Brazilian embroidery and jewelry making with custom beading. Sharon attended LB Alliance Church where she was an active member in the Alliance Women and Crafty Women's groups. She was also active in her mobile home community as well as a member of the Senior Club at Los Alamitos Community Center. Sharon passed on January 4, 2021 after an extended period of illness. She was preceded in death by her father, John Catron, her two brothers, Richard and Gary Catron and her granddaughter, Kayleigh Scott. Sharon is survived by her mother, Mary Catron; daughters, Michelle Scott and Rhonda Fox; son-in-law, David Scott and grandchildren, Kelsea and Rebecca Fox and Hunter Scott. A memorial service for family and friends will be held at a later date due to the current COVID-19 virus outbreak. Sharon will be interned at Forest Lawn, Cypress, CA
