Celia V. Scoltock Obituary
Celia V. Scoltock went home, to heaven, her permanent home on October 22, 2018. Celia was born in Costa Rica on February 26, 1926, a resident of Long Beach since 1962, a member of St. Hedwig's in Rossmoor, CA from 1963 followed by St. Peter Chanel to the present. She was Sutton Scoltock, Sr's widow for 32 years, mother of Carlos E. Scoltock, Doris M. Scoltock-Smeltz, Sandra Scoltock Martinez, Eliette Sidney Pitta (formerly Scoltock, deceased), Sutton Scoltock, Jr.; mother-in-law to Holly, Frank, Armando, Richard and Debbie; grandmother to Chelsea, Beau, Peter, Ben, Ryan, Justin, Ashlee, Tanner, Brandi and James; great-grandmother to Bethany, Grayson, Maverick, Emma Elizabeth, Lyla and Dominic. Celia dedicated her life to her family, her love of Jesus Christ and was a devoted follower of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and Our Blessed Mother Mary. A day did not pass without her wearing her scapular and saying the rosary every night before bed, no matter how long it took or what time of the night it was, in intercessory prayer for her loved ones. Her ministry focused on the poor and needy, both here and in her native home country of Costa Rica. Her passion and happy place was at the feet of Jesus, in prayer and in her garden. Visitation will be held at All Souls Mortuary Chapel, 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach CA 90807 on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 5pm-8pm with a Rosary at 6pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church, 12001 E. 214th St, Hawaiian Gardens CA 90716 on Monday, November 12, 2018 at 10am followed by burial at All Souls Cemetery, 4400 Cherry Ave, Long Beach CA 90807.
