Franklin Oscar Estes

Franklin Oscar Estes, age 95, died peacefully at his home in Anaheim, on Tuesday, July 17, 2012.. Mr. Estes was a retired Long Beach Police Officer serving from 1943 to 1968. From 1954-56 he was President of the Long Beach Police Officers Association. He was also a founding member and past president of the Police Officers Research Association of California (PORAC), an organization formed to improve police training and assist police officers throughout the state of California. Half of his career was spent in uniform, the other in the detective bureau. After his retirement he worked as an investigator for the State of California. He is survived by son, Tom; daughter, Mary Raimondi; 3 grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 28, at 2pm, at Saddleback Chapel, 220 East Main Street, Tustin CA.
