Henry Eugene Harper Obituary

AUGUST 12, 1947 - JUNE 19, 2018

Henry Eugene Harper, age 70, of Evans, Georgia passed away peacefully on June 19, 2018 after a long fought battle with multiple lung diseases. Firstborn son of Edwin and Barbara Harper, Henry was a native Californian where he lived until retiring and moving to Georgia in 2011. Henry was a Navy veteran and served two tours as an electrician's mate after graduating high school. He continued working as an electrician at American Bridge in Long Beach, California, Santa Fe Railroad in Bakersfield, California and BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) in Oakland, California, just to name a few. He very much enjoyed working as an electrician and was also an avid remodeler/woodworker who was quick to offer his talents wherever they were needed. Henry is survived by, Marilyn, his wife of 50+ years; daughters, Carolyn "Cari" Baumer (Greg) and Catherine "Renee" Jensen (Erik); granddaughters, Kirsten (Chris) McCarty, Karalynn and Angelica Jensen and Sabrina and Shelby Baumer; brother, Kenneth Harper (deceased); sister, Tammie Ottenad (Ron); many nieces and nephews and other family and friends. While we miss him greatly, we know that he is breathing freely and rejoicing with Jesus and all our loved ones who have gone home before him.
A Celebration of Life service with military honors will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at The Sanctuary of Augusta, 4584 Cox Road, Evans, Georgia 30809 (a reception to follow). In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in his honor to Prodigal Ministries c/o The Sanctuary Ministries, a recovery ministry that Henry, in his more able bodied years, would have been the first to volunteer his talents in support.
