Dr. Herman Richard Casdorph, 89, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2018.

Herman Richard Casdorph was born to Herman and Dorothy Casdorph in Charleston, West Virginia in November 1928. He attended West Virginia University, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He attended medical school at the University of Indiana. He completed his fellowship in internal medicine at the Mayo Clinic, Minnesota. He received his Ph.D. in medicine and physiology at the University of Minnesota. He was a Captain, United States Air Force Medical corps, Flight Surgeon, USAF.

Dr. Casdorph was an esteemed author, speaker and instructor in medicine and received many honors and awards. He was devoted to the patients he cared for over his many years of practice. He practiced medicine in the Long Beach area for over 50 years. He enjoyed world traveling, sports, such as skiing, scuba diving, Turner Classic Movies, and was particularly close with his mother, Dorothy, and her southern cooking. He was president of the local chapter of Gideon International, and was passionate about his faith in Jesus. He and his former wife, Patricia, raised 6 children in Lakewood, California. Later in life he married Heather Browning and had 1 daughter. Funeral Services have been held.

Dr. Casdorph is survived by: 7 children, 11 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren.
