Margaret Healy Vandandaigue (Peg) Margaret Vandandaigue, a Veteran of World War II, was born 96 years ago on October 12, 1921 in Butte, Montana to Irish immigrants. She was orphaned at age 10 and was raised with her 5 siblings, all of whom preceded her to Heaven. Following her beloved sister, Ann, she moved to California in 1942, and worked at McDonnell Douglas Aircraft until joining the Army as a WAC in 1943. She met the love of her life, Joseph Vandandaigue (Joe) in Newport News, Virginia and married him 2 weeks later, on St. Patrick's Day 1945. Returning to CA, they purchased a home in Lakewood on Premiere Avenue where they raised 5 children. She leaves behind her children, Lora Vandandaigue, (Thomas); Peggy Pruter (Ron 2012); Paulette Brown (Art), Gary Vandandaigue (Pamela); 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren, her beloved Nieces, Nephews and Friends, all who knew her as Auntie Peg Known as Peg, Mom, Grandma, GG, or Auntie Peg, she was a Matriarch for her family with her strong spirit, her kind and welcoming heart, making her home the gathering place for all. She was proud to be Irish, a Veteran, and a 72 year resident of Lakewood, CA. All will miss this Mighty 4'6" Super Woman, with her love for the Dodgers and her Annual 4th of July BBQ's. We know she is at Peace now with her son, Joey, her brothers and fun loving sister Ann .... while dancing the "Jig" once again with her Joe! Saintly Sweet Woman, never to be forgotten.
