Myra D. McKnight
Passed away at age 94 on February 8, 2013 in San Bernardino, CA. Born in Carter County, Missouri, and raised in Arkansas, she lived in San Bernardino for almost all of her adult life. She worked in food service for San Bernardino Valley College for 16 years. A loving mother and grandmother, not only to her family, she also had a great capacity for loving children in her neighborhood and in her church. A woman of great faith, her love and laughter will be missed. At the time of her passing, she was the longest tenured member of the First Baptist Church of San Bernardino where she attended and served faithfully for 74 years. She is survived by her sister, Ruth Milligan of Bremerton, Washington and her granddaughter, Laura Henderson, of Mt. Airy, Maryland. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hosey Eugene McKnight, and her daughter, Janice Mills. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church, 4747 N. State Street, San Bernardino, CA on Thursday, February 21 at 10 am. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 pm at Montecito Memorial Park. A viewing will be held at Bobbitt Memorial Chapel, 1299 E. Highland Ave, San Bernardino, CA on Wednesday, February 20 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to "First Baptist Church" in her memory. All donations will be used to support the Youth program of the church.
