Ralph Jahn

Passionate storyteller and dedicated family man, Ralph Edgar "Johnnie" Jahn passed away in his sleep at home December 24, 2017. He was 92.

Ralph was born to John and Helena Jahn on May 12, 1925 on a snowy farm in remote Sebastopol, Ontario, Canada.

Ralph had the unusual honor of serving for two countries during WWII, first as a pilot in the Royal Canadian Air Force then as a member of the US Naval Air Corps.

Ralph was a tireless shoe dog, spending 6 decades in the shoe industry, 50 years with Brown Shoe Company of St. Louis, MO and another 10 years after "retirement" with his own sales agency representing a variety of shoe companies.

Ralph was preceded in death by the love of his life, Genie Jahn, with whom he spent 62 happy years.

Ralph is survived by his sister, Dolores Bedwell; son, Greg (Deby) and daughter, Cindy (David) Traub; grandsons, Cameron (Liza) Jahn, Cassidy (Priscilla) Traub and Cody (Sonya) Jahn, granddaughters, Lacee (Tom) Harris and Calli (Chris) Verducci. Ralph is also survived 7 great grandchildren: MacKenzie and Dax Jahn, Zane and Zara Traub, Magnolia Harris, Paloma and Leonardo Jahn.

A celebration of Ralph's life will be held on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 11 am Bethel Grace Baptist Church, 17909 Carpintero Avenue, Bellflower. Please sign the guestbook at www.presstelegram.com/obis
