Susan Vieira Obituary

In Loving Memory of Susan A. Vieira
Feb. 28, 1948 - November 21, 2017

Susan was born and raised in Long Beach, Ca. She was a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. On November 21, 2017, Susan's incredibly hard fought battle with brain cancer ended. Her strength and courage were without equal.
Susan was a graduate of Long Beach Wilson High School in 1966. She then went on to obtain nursing degrees at both Long Beach City College and Cal State Long Beach. Following college, she went to work at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital for 10 years. She then went on to spend her next 32 years at Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, working between the respiratory and telemetry departments. She dedicated her life to helping others.
Susan loved to travel and she loved the outdoors. She loved life. Susan had two sons, Richie and Jamie Ashley, whom she loved dearly. She married Joseph Vieira on August 21, 1985. They had an incredible life together riding horses at their ranch and traveling. She loved spending time with her friends, most of which, were the same friends she had known since elementary school. Most of all, she loved her grandchildren. She was a proud Grandma (Yia Yia). She would spend endless hours with them at sporting events, dance recitals, birthdays, and attending their school functions. Always, showering them with her love. She will be greatly missed by her husband, her two sons and daughters-in-law Anne Marie and Stacey, her beloved grandchildren, and her friends.

I worked with Susan at Memorial, she was my mentor, I looked up to her. She was a great nurse. So sorry for your loss.
