Thelma May Markley (Skip)

Thelma May Markley ("Skip") was born in Pittsburgh, PA, on May 15, 1923, the daughter of Elmer and Ethel Richards. She went quietly home to her Savior on December 22, 2017, at the Hillcrest Woods Health Center in La Verne, CA.
Thelma graduated from Peabody High School with honors in East Liberty, PA on February 4, 1942. On February 14, 1942 (Valentine's Day) she married William H. Markley. He preceded her in death March 8, 2005. They were married for 63 years.
Thelma chose her friends carefully, and once you were her friend you were her friend for life. She loved the outdoors and gardening. She loved music and she loved to travel.
Thelma trusted Jesus as her personal Savior when she was 15 years old. She had an active prayer life and an unwavering faith in God. For many years Thelma was a member of the Los Altos Brethren Church in Long Beach, CA.
Thelma was predeceased by a baby daughter, Mary, in 1945. Thelma is survived by her son Richard Markley (Betty), son W. Robert Markley (Pam); son Rex Markley; son Ray Markley (Shari); daughter Sandra Booth (Brian); and daughter Sharon Rocchi (Jeff). She is also survived by 14 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her at Hillcrest during her stay there. Please sign the guestbook, www.presstelegram.com.
