William "Bill" Wagner

October 25, 1943 – January 18, 2018

Beloved husband, father, friend, and "King of Covina Avenue", Bill was a lifelong Long Beach native. He attended Lowell Elementary, Rogers Middle School, and Wilson High School, followed by CSULB, earning a degree in Recreation and Leisure Studies. He also served in the U.S. Marine Corp Reserve.

His long and successful career in the Long Beach Parks, Recreation and Marine Department was marked by his strong support for innovative youth programs. He retired in 2002.

An inventor with two patents to his name, Bill was known for his generosity and creativity in devising projects ranging from architectural design, lighting, and engineering to the culinary arts including home brewing and wine making.

Bill Wagner is survived by his wife Theresa, son Ken, niece Heidi, nephew Ralph, and multitudes of neighbors and friends. He will be lovingly remembered and greatly missed. Please sign the guest book at www.presstelegram.com/obits.
