Midge Mitchell Obituary

Midge Noble Mitchell, 83, passed peacefully on Thursday, January 31, 2013 lovingly surrounded by her family. She was born in Glenrose, TX on May 15, 1929 to Curt and Hattie Noble. She graduated from high school in 1948 in Stanley, NM and married Edwin Lewis Mitchell, Jr. on September 27, 1950. Midge was an entrepreneur from a very young age, from selling Nutrimedics to owning her own store, "The Wigwam," in Corpus Christi while obtaining her real estate license. She was multi-talented and eager to help wherever she saw a need. She gave of herself generously to her family, friends, and many others, including the children she tutored while living in Indonesia. However, her crowning glory was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They will miss her deeply until they meet again. Midge was preceded in death by her husband Ed, as well as her parents and five brothers and sisters. She is survived by children Cherri Wallis and husband Scott of Las Cruces, Donni Mitchell of Las Cruces, Eddie Mitchell and wife Kerrie of Hobbs; four grandchildren: Jeremy Wallis and wife Julie, Jared Wallis and wife Jayme, Lee Mitchell and wife Melissa, and Cody Mitchell; and five great-grandchildren: Hannah Wallis, Emma Wallis, Ella Wallis, Norah Mitchell and Jackson Wallis. She is also survived by brothers Cleve Noble and Ned Noble, as well as many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Monday, February 4, 2013 from 6-8pm at La Paz-Graham's Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Las Cruces Church of Christ, 2025 N. Valley Drive in Las Cruces. Pallbearers include Jeremy Wallis, Jared Wallis, Lee Mitchell, Cody Mitchell, Scott Wallis, Kenny Whitaker, Curtis Ford, Dean Ford, and Larry Mitchell. Honorary Pallbearers are Cleve Noble and Ned Noble. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery.
