Joaquin R. Bertoldo, 71, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012 at his home in Brazito, N.M. He was born to Jose and Trinidad Bertoldo on Aug. 17, 1940 in Tortugas, N.M. He was an exemplary and highly recognized employee of Memorial Medical Center and Las Cruces Sun-News. Joaquin was married to Maria N. Bertoldo for 53 years. With love they created a family of five children, 17 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. He was very creative and artistic and enjoyed writing poetry, songs, and prayers as well as carpentry. He was a master joke teller whose jokes brought much laughter and joy to those who knew him and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife Maria N. Bertoldo and his children and (in-laws); Joaquin Bertoldo Jr. (Cathy), Bobby Bertoldo (Patsy), Virginia Dominguez (George), Oscar Bertoldo (Virginia Nuñez), and Lucy Bertoldo-Ronquillo (Francisco J.) and by all of his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sister, nieces, nephews and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Jesse Bertoldo, and his grandson, Pete N. Bertoldo. Services are to be held Monday, Nov. 12, 2012 at San Miguel Catholic Church in San Miguel, N.M.
