Bernard "Larry" Gaffney passed away in his daughter's home in Warren, Oregon on January 11, 2019 surrounded by his family. Larry was born on March 21, 1935 in Hartford, Connecticut to Bernie and Margaret Gaffney.
Larry graduated from East Hartford High School in 1953. On July 2, 1955 in East Hartford, he married the love of his life, Theresa Fletcher. Together they had five children, Debbie, Dennis. Brian, Margaret and Gary. In 1971, they moved to Grants Pass, Oregon where they lived for 16 years. Larry worked as a Realtor as well was a professional bricklayer. Larry was very involved in Little League for several years, he also served on the board of realtors in Grants Pass, Rotary, and Josephine County Home Builders Association. He was well known as the 'real' Santa Claus.
Larry is survived by his wife, Theresa Gaffney, his sister Peggy (Mike) Dubel, his daughters: Debbie (Mike) Pariera, Margaret (Brad Green) Ryan, his sons Brian (Rose) Gaffney, Gary (Mary) Gaffney. His eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernie and Margaret Gaffney, and his son Dennis Gaffney.
There will be a celebration of life on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Warren Community Fellowship, in Warren, Oregon followed with a lunch.
