Obituary Condolences

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Gary S. Geyer, 67 of Las Cruces on Sunday, July 25, 2010 at Memorial Medical Center. He was born March 20, 1943 in Akron, Ohio to the late Harlan and Betty Holleran Geyer. Gary graduated from Ohio State University in 1966 with a BS in Electrical Engineering and in 1970 from the University of Southern California with a dual MS degree in astronautical and electrical Engineering. He served as an officer in the United States Air Force for 26 years in the aerospace field. He was married for 41 years to Janice Clark and had two sons. Upon retiring as a Colonel from the Air Force in 1992, Gary continued to work in the aerospace industry at Lockheed Martin Corporation in Denver, Colorado, and later as teacher of electrical/aerospace engineering at New Mexico State University.

Survivors include his two sons, Gregory Geyer (Jean) of Phoenix, Arizona and Patrick Geyer (Patti) of Cleveland, Ohio, as well as his grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Joshua and Isabelle; three sisters, Joan Rucker (Jim), Noreen Kordosky, (Gary) and Maggie Geyer.
At his request cremation will take place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 30, 2010 in the Peace Chapel of Baca's Funeral Chapels, 300 E. Boutz Road. Inurnment of cremains with take place at a later date.
