Harry (Hal) Allen Sontag

August 28, 1950 - December 20, 2020

Harry (Hal) Allen Sontag was born August 28th, 1950 Anniston, Alabama to Harry O. and Alline B. Sontag. He later moved with his family to Silver City, New Mexico where he met his wife, Ollie Ann in the 6th grade. After marrying Ollie, Hal attended New Mexico State University. Hal and Ollie had son, Harry Lee, and worked for Power Company.

Hal was a lover of the great outdoors, where he was often seen backpacking with both his family and Boy Scouts. He was an avid collector of both stamps and coins. Hal was very active and served in leaderships positions with the Boys Scouts of America, Church, Jaycees, and the Rogue Valley Manor pick up crew. He received numerous awards including the Young Glow, Golden Horn-a-Day and Silver Beaver.

He is survived by wife Ollie Ann of 52 years; His brother, Steven (Jenny) and sister Susan, (Paul); Son, Harry Lee; grandchildren, Kevin, Taylor, and Micala; and great grandchildren, Ayden and Haseleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents.
