Jose R. Arreola

1943 - 2018 Obituary Condolences Gallery
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncles and friend, JOSE R. ARREOLA, 74, who was surrounded by his loving family when her left this earth and joined our heavenly Lord on Saturday, July 7, 2018. He was born in Durango, Mexico on December 22, 1943 to Guadalupe Rivera and Salomon Arreola. Jose attended a military school in the state of Durango until he was 13 years old and moved to Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua to attend the school Enseñanzas Especiales #21 and graduated at the age of 16 with an accounting degree. Because of his diligence in his career, he was hired to work for a wood furniture factory in El Paso, Texas. The nostalgia from the military school never left him and he joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 years old where he attended boot camp in San Diego, California. And so his adventures in the US Marines Corps lasted for 26 years where it gave him the opportunity to obtain his engineering degree from New Mexico State University in 1977 and allowed him to travel around the world. Jose served his country honorably in the United States Marines and retired as Master Gunnery Sergeant in 1991 from Camp Pendleton, California. In 1991, he relocated to Las Cruces, New Mexico and taught at the Doña Ana Branch Community College and retired in 2002.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 42 years, Ale Arreola; his two daughters, Patricia Arreola and Lorena Gloria; three sons, Eduardo Arreola, Alonso Arreola and Joseph Arreola; five grandchildren, David Gloria, Joseph Gloria, Esmeray Acikel, Luke Arreola, and Evelyn Arreola. Other survivors include five sisters, Linda Dominguez, Licha Infante, Rosalia Olivas, Veronica Tamayo, and Lupe Ferrales as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will begin at 6 PM Wednesday (today), July 11, 2018 in Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 7 PM. Family and Friends will join together to celebrate the Funeral Mass at 10 AM Thursday, July 12, 2018 in Holy Cross Catholic Church, 1327 N. Miranda with Reverend Mike Williams officiating. The Rite of Committal and Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho with military honors accorded by the United States Marine Corps Honor Guard and the Marine Corps League - El Perro Diablo Detachment.
Serving as casket bearers will be Eduardo, Alonso and Joseph Arreola, David and Joseph Gloria, and Richard Ferrales. Honorary bearers will be Alex Delgado and Salvador Ferrales.
