Patricio J. Gonzales Obituary
PATRICIO J. GONZALES, age 83, of Las Cruces passed from this life on Friday, July 6, 2018 at La Posada - Mesilla Valley Hospice. He was born July 28, 1934 to Patricio H. Gonzales and Florencia Carreon Gonzales. He served in the United States Marines Corp worked at the U.S. Post Office, and NASA, spent time in California and returned home to care for his parents. Since his mother's passing in October 2008 he had continued being a dependable, caring and family oriented individual. He will live on in the memories and stories that family and friends are sharing.
He is survived by his brothers, Narciso "Chicho" Gonzales (Jane), Pedro C. Gonzales; his sisters, Juliet "Chata" G. Robles, Dolores G. Molinar (Reymundo), and Sophie G. Chavez (Belsan); his sister-in-law, Rosemary Gonzales. Patricio was preceded in death by his, parents; brother, Pablo C. Gonzales; brother-in-law, Rafael R. Robles and sister-in-law, Julie M. Gonzales.
Visitation for Patricio will begin at 1:30 PM Thursday, July 12, 2018 at St. Genevieve's Catholic Church, 100 S. Espina Street where the Prayer Vigil is scheduled for 2 PM. The Funeral Mass will follow immediately thereafter. Military Honors will be accorded by the United States Marines Corps Honor Guard and the Marines Corps League-El Perro Diablo Detachment. At his request, cremation will take place and Inurnment of Cremains will be held at a later date.
Serving as casket bearers will be his nephews, Belsan "Beber" Chavez, Joseph Gonzales, Michael Molinar, Rey Molinar Jr., Patrick Robles, and Ralph Robles. Honorary bearers will be Michael Amesquita, James Casteel, Jimmy Casteel, Belsan "Shorty" Chavez, Christopher Chavez, Katherine Chavez, Keith Freeman, Paul Gonzales, Max Lucero, Reymundo Molinar, Anthony Robles, Marisa Vasquez, and Matthew Vasquez.
The family would like to thank the exceptional staff of Mesilla Valley Hospice for taking care of Patricio with dignity, gentleness, and professionalism during his final days. Thank you as well to everyone for your prayers and support during this difficult time in our lives. We are ever thankful and blessed.
