It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, stepfather, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, Salvador Cisneros Jr., 51, a lifelong resident of Las Cruces on Monday, April 21, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Salvador was born March 19, 1963, to Salvador Sr. and Carmen Delia Salas Cisneros. He enjoyed car racing, old trucks, antiques and music; he was a well-known dancer in Las Cruces and enjoyed dancing with his loving wife, whom he called "Babe." Salvador worked in maintenance at the city of Las Cruces Police Department for 15 years and was a member of the Roman Catholic Church. Those left to mourn his passing include his loving wife of four years, Catherine Stitt Cisneros of the family home; two stepdaughters, Francesca Espinosa and husband, Gabriel, and Anamaria Portillo; his mother, Carmen Delia Cisneros, all of Las Cruces; three brothers, Miguel Angel Cisneros and wife, Elvia Minerva, of Doña Ana, Luis Cisneros and wife, Martha, of Castle Rock, Colo., and Noel Cisneros and wife Antoinette of San Ysidro; a sister Lorraine Cisneros also of Las Cruces. Other survivors include three grandchildren, Robert Joe and Mikayla Grace Espinosa and Aiden Lopez as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Salvador was preceded in death by his father, Salvador Cisneros Sr. on Nov. 25, 2011. Visitation for Salvador will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday, April 27, 2014, in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the prayer vigil is scheduled for 6 p.m. Family and friends will join together to celebrate the Holy Mass of Resurrection at 10 a.m. Monday, April 28, 2014, in Immaculate Heart of Mary Cathedral, 1240 S. Espina St., with the Rev. Alejandro Reyes, celebrant. The rite of committal and interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, 5140 W. Picacho Ave., where he will be laid to rest. Serving as casket bearers will be Miguel, Luis and Noel Cisneros, Miguel Cisneros, II, Luis Alberto Cisneros and Francesca Espinosa.
