Jerald J. Beck, 71, of Las Cruces passed away Friday, June 6, 2014. He was born January 11, 1943 in Elgin, North Dakota to Victor and Clara Beck. Jerald retired from the U.S. Army and served his country honorably during the Vietnam War. He was a member the Veterans of Foreign War (VFW) Post 10124 and the Lutheran Church. Family members include his loving wife, Helga Beck, of the family home; three sons, Pedro Askar and wife, Sandra of San Diego, California, Alex Askar and wife, Ana of Rock Port, Texas and Gerald Beck and wife, Catinaof Las Cruces; two daughters, Machira Freeman and husband, Daryl and Brenda Mendoza and husband, Davidall of Las Cruces. Other survivors include three brothers, two sisters, numerous grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings, Phyllis and Duane. Visitation for Mr. Beck will begin at 10 AM, Thursday, June 12, 2014 in Baca's Chapel of Prayer, 300 E. Boutz Road, where the Funeral Service will begin at 11 AM. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date. Military Honors will be accorded by a Ft.
