Mildred R. Strouphar

Mildred R. Strouphar ANNVILLE Mildred R. Strouphar, 101 years and six months old, formerly of E. Lehman St., Lebanon, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, in the Lebanon Valley Home. She was born on November 25, 1912, in Lebanon, and graduated from Lebanon High School in 1930. She was the oldest living member of Hill United Church of Christ in Lebanon. For many years she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Hospital and Hyman Caplan Pavilion. She was one of 12 children born to Harry and Elizabeth Houser. She was preceded in death by her husband, John; grandson, Jeff Shockley; and son-in-law, Bill Mammele. She is survived by her two daughters, Lorraine Mammele, and Nancy Hartman, wife of Ray Hartman; grandsons, Bill (Luke) Mammele and wife, Donna, and Chris Shockley and wife, Jennifer; great-granddaughter, Chelsea Moses; great-grandsons, Eric and Nicholas Shockley; two great-great-granddaughters, Amaiya and Jenna Moses; and many nieces and nephews. Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Rohland Funeral Home, 508 Cumberland St., Lebanon 17042, where a viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Interment will be made in Hill Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to of Greater PA, 3544 N. Progress Ave., Harrisburg, PA 17110. Please write "Research" on the bottom of checks.
