James Redcay Obituary

James A. Redcay FREDERICKSBURG James Andrew Redcay, 21, passed away in his sleep Thursday, May 23, 2013, at his home. "Firecracker Jim" was born in Lebanon, on July 4, 1991. He was the son of Mervin R. and Sheila Gockley Redcay of Fredericksburg. He was baptized at St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Schaefferstown and was a 2009 graduate of Northern Lebanon High School and the Lebanon County Career and Technology Center. Jim worked at Mease Motors in Jonestown. He loved riding dirt bikes, four wheelers and pulling in truck pulls. He enjoyed nature, fireworks, and especially animals. He loved and cared for his family and was thankful for all his siblings and his mom and dad. His sense of humor and tendency to play pranks will be missed. Jim had a flair for fixing and modifying cars and always tinkered around in the garage with new projects. His latest was a 1968 Rambler and motorizing his Mongoose bicycle. Wiffle ball games will not be the same without him. He will continue to live in our hearts. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his daughter, Willah L. Redcay; brothers, Adam L. of Wrightsville, and Martin R., husband of Carrie of Winchester, Va.; sisters, Lucy J. of Lancaster, Julia R. of Lancaster, and Natalie S., wife of Damien Fried of Stephens City, Va.; his grandparents, Eugene and Shirley Gockley of Ephrata; his girlfriend, Sharla Allison; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at 11 a.m. at the Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 72 and Camp Meeting Road, Jonestown. Viewing will be one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N. Ramona Road, Myerstown, PA 17067. www.kreamerlumfh.com

Merv, and Shelia, So sorry for the loss of your son Jim. I remember the one summer at Bill and Sylvia's place, I think it was Jim's birthday, we had a picnic, he had brought a duck to put in their pond. I remember the duck wanted to stay with Jim, and not be in the pond. He was worried about it staying there. Jim will always be in your hearts. Please take comfort in that. Judy & Steve Enck
