Lucille A. Lynch

Lebanon - Lucille A. (Baker) Lynch, 92, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter P. Lynch, Jr. in 2013, with whom she would have been married 67 years. Born in Hummelstown on December 30, 1925, she was the daughter of James and Catherine (Shertzer) Baker. She was a 1943 graduate of Hummelstown High School and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Lebanon. Lucille was a "Rosie the Riveter" during WWII and worked as a junior mechanic in Middletown. Following the war, she became a beautician and worked in a salon for several years. For the rest of her career, she worked as a seamstress in various clothing factories in Lebanon, retiring from the Everite Knitting Mills in 1988. But her most important job was that of wife, mother and grandmother. Lucille was a caring and wonderful woman who always put everyone before herself. She enjoyed sewing, reading and taking care of her family. She was truly an angel that walked the earth and will be missed beyond measure. She is survived by three children, sons, Thomas P. (Patricia) Lynch, and James F. (Elizabeth) Lynch, and daughter, Anne, (Vernon) Achenbach. She is also survived by her sister, Jayne (Charles) Wilson; brother, James Baker and sister-in-law Sylvia Baker. In addition, she is survived by five grandchildren, Melissa, Thomas Jr., Catherine, Andrew, and Stephanie; and four great-grandchildren, Drew, Tyler, Noah, and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Baker. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 2 N. 8th Street, Lebanon, with a visitation from 10:30 to 11 a.m. at church.
