West Lawn - Marie T. (Feairheller) Strause, 90, of West Lawn, passed away Monday, May 13, 2019 at her daughter's house. She was the wife of the late Leon G. Strause, who died Feb. 1, 2018.

Marie, a daughter of the late John C. and Sophie A. (Slawecki) Feairheller, was born in Royersford. She is survived by a daughter, LaVon M., widow of Joseph Heft, Myerstown; two sons, Francis G. Strause, husband of Nan, Sunbury, and Dr. Karl D. Strause, husband of Shufang, Ithica, NY; three brothers, Charles E. Feairheller, husband of Wanda, Royersford, Paul J. Feairheller, widower of Theresa, NV, and John H. Fairheller, husband of Dorothy, Royersford; a sister, Kathryn J., wife of Donald Caparro, New Hope; five grandchildren, Samuel Strause, Krisandra Adams, Megan Spotts, Tyler Strause, and Michael Strause; and three great grandchildren, Cora Spotts, Scarlet Strause, and Sullivan Spotts.

She was a 1946 graduate of Royersford High School and a 1949 graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing, Reading.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Hawley, PA, Mt. Pleasant Fire Company Ladies Auxillary, and a former head of election board, West Lawn.

She retired from Berks Heim after 30 years as a Registered Nurse, having previously worked at the Wernersville State Hospital.

Services will be held at 9:30 AM, Friday, May 17th, at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Indiantown Gap Rd., East Hanover Twp. A viewing will be held from 6-8:00 PM, Thursday, at Lamm & Witman Funeral Home, 243 W. Penn Ave., Wernersville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a Veteran's , or to Berks County Genealogical Society, 201 Washington St. #413, Reading, PA 19601.
