STEFANSSON, Lilja Bjorg
Lilja was born on February 4, 1921 at Vestfold, MB and passed away on June 16, 2013 in Regina, SK. She was predeceased by her parents Gudmundur and Jonina Stefansson; four brothers, five sisters; son-in-law Adrien and grandsons Gordon and Kenneth. Lilja leaves to cherish her memory her partner of 40 years Evelyn Rogers; their children David (Gloria) Hicks, Elaine Bertrand, Victoria (Brian) Walton, Ian Rogers (Liz Ormiston) and Heather Herrell (Bill Morton); ten grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and many extended family and friends. Lilja will be remembered for her outstanding work ethic. She was proud of owning her own insurance business in Rouleau and later worked at SGI head office. Lilja enjoyed time spent with the Senior University Group in Regina, where she developed her passion for writing. She enjoyed volunteering, was always ready for an adventure and enjoyed times spent with family and friends. To quote Lilja, "I lived my life to the fullest - the depths and the heights - so do not mourn." A very special thanks to all the staff and volunteers of Regina Pioneer Village for their loving care and compassion to Lilja and her family. A CELEBRATION OF LILJA'S LONG LIFE will be held at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, Regina, SK on Thursday, June 20, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. In the spirit of Lilja, bright and sparkly attire is welcome. In lieu of flowers, donations in Lilja's memory may be made to Regina Pioneer Village Memorial Fund Recreation Department, 430 Pioneer Drive, Regina, SK, S4T 6L8 or a charity of your choice.
