Marlene passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, July 20, 2017. She is survived by her son Wade (Kiet); daughter Wendy (Mike Dacey); and grandchildren, Amanda and Matthew. Marlene will also be especially missed by her close, lifelong childhood friends, Joan and Doug Middleton and she was blessed with many other friends, including Barb, Susan, and Marie. Marlene worked hard her entire life and spent the last 30 years with Shoppers Drug Mart, most recently at the Landmark location. She always treated her customers and fellow workers with a smile and eager service, and developed a loyal clientele. Marlene was an avid gardener, reader, bowler, and enjoyed travelling. She made her way to Europe on three occasions. Within her family, Marlene was known for the gusto with which she would cheer the Saskatchewan Roughriders and celebrate Christmas. In her later years, she enjoyed time with her grandchildren and would enthusiastically accompany them on many sports tournaments, both locally and across the country. A special thank you to the palliative care staff for their exceptional care. Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
