I did not know Peter but I was a student of Eleanor's back in the early 1990's. I think of you often Eleanor (my first daughter shares your name) and just wanted to say how sorry I am to hear of your husband's passing.

It was Peter during one of his documentary film classes at the U of Regina that made me want to be a filmmaker. I did become a filmmaker and to this day am forever grateful for the knowledge that he passed down to me and to his encouragement in my pursuits. My condolences to all who knew him.

Peter had a huge influence on me when he was my film professor in Regina. His politics were progressive and his filmmaking and teaching skills impressive. I credit Peter with teaching me enough that I was able to fake my way through a career as a television journalist. My condolences to Eleanor and the crest of Peter's family.

Peter was a wonderful teacher. His evening classes on the politics of film are unforgettable, particularly when he brought his friend John Grierson in for a series of lectures on WW II propaganda. Condolences to the family.

Goodbye Peter Smollett. You were one of the best professors I ever had at The University of Regina.
