Ashley LouAnn Seigel, 29, of Vandalia, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016, in Montgomery County.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia, with visitation to be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday and from 10 a.m. until time of services on Saturday, both at the funeral home. Services will be held at noon on Monday at Pulliam Funeral Home in Oblong, with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of services on Monday at the funeral home. Memorials: Fayette County Caring and Sharing, Vandalia Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center or Toys for Tots. Hohlt and File Funeral Home in Vandalia was in charge of arrangements. Ashley was born on Sept. 11, 1986, the daughter of Ira "Bud" and Cheryl (Garrard) Seigel.
She grew up in Vandalia, graduating from high school in 2005 and graduating from the Kaskaskia College LPN Program in 2007. She worked as a night LPN for Anchor Home Healthcare, a night LPN-PRN for Celtic Private Care and an LPN at Vandalia Rehabilitation and Health Care Center, and was owner/operator of Whiskey Girl DJ since 2008. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and Shoal Creek ABATE. Her true passion was to care for terminally ill children. She had a smile that would light a room, and a memorable loving and outgoing personality.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, Bud and Sharon Seigel of Vandalia; mother, Cheryl Seigel of Salem; stepbrother, Thomas Bivens Jr. of Centralia; stepsisters, Sharon Nicole Bivens of Salem and Bobbie Joleigh Ball of Alma; uncle, Craig Garrard of Hutsonville; aunt, Kathy Garrard of Vandalia; niece and nephew, Claire Bivens and Chase Potter; cousins, Justin Guyer of Hutsonville, Josh Guyer of Spencer, Ind., Branna Ree Coker Kimbrough of Smithville, Miss; second cousins, Brandon and Abby Kat Kimbrough, both of Smithville, Miss.; and several extended family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin and Mary Giffin, and John and Freda Rippy; and aunt, Harriet Coker.
