Denver A. Hunter (1924 - 2012)


Denver A. Hunter, 87, of Brownstown, died on Monday evening, Sept. 17, 2012, at St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at First Baptist Church in Brownstown. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Avena Township. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Gieseking-Claggett Funeral Home in Brownstown and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. Memorials: Fairview Cemetery or donor's choice.
Mr. Hunter was born on Dec. 2, 1924, in Vera, the son of Owen and Addie Hunter. He married Ellen Durbin Williams in 1992.
He is survived by his wife; daughters, Gerri and her husband Tom Halbrook of Taylorville, and Joyce and her husband Tom Robison of Wagoner; stepsons, Virgil Williams and his wife Faye of Brownstown, Rick Williams and his wife Patty of Brownstown, David Williams and his wife Bobbye of Vandalia, and Mick Williams and his wife Sandy of Mulberry Grove; and stepdaughters, Marcia and her husband Earl Pemberton of Brownstown, and Crystal and her husband Kenny Lape of Brownstown.
